Where Moonlight Guards the Jackal-King

In twilight halls where silver settles low,
Bastet walks with paws that whisper grace.
Her laughter warms the desert’s evening glow,
A gentle fire in Anubis’ solemn face.

He tends the veil where mortal breaths grow still,
A keeper of the quiet, sacred night.
Yet Bastet’s touch can bend his iron will,
Her purring heart a lantern in his plight.

She curls beside his shadows unafraid,
For even death must bow to tender things.
And in her gaze, his somber storms are stayed—
Her love the balm that soothes a world of wings.

Two gods entwined in balance, dark and bright:
Her warmth his peace, his silence her delight.

  1. Absolutely stunning! I love how you’ve portrayed the relationship between Bastet and Anubis—there’s such a delicate balance of warmth and solemnity. The imagery is vivid, and the way their personalities complement each other feels both powerful and tender. Truly a beautifully crafted ode to their connection
