Daily Prompt #13

What made me smile or laugh today?

Today, my smile came wrapped in small shoes and an even bigger imagination.

My four-year-old found joy in the simplest things—asking “why” with complete seriousness, then answering himself with a theory that made absolutely no sense and all the sense in the world. He laughed like it was his job, full-bodied and fearless, the kind of laugh that forgets there’s anything else happening around it.

He made me smile when he spoke with confidence about things he’s still learning, when he turned an ordinary moment into something magical just by being in it. The way he sees the world—wide open, unfiltered, honest—reminded me how easy happiness can be when we let it be small and real.

If I’m honest, he didn’t just make me smile today. He softened the whole day.
