Before the first light learned to bend,
before the stars had names to send,
there was a quiet, waiting thread—
and it was you, and it was said.
The oceans rise, the mountains tire,
the sun grows cold, the winds retire,
but something in me does not cease—
it only deepens, only peace.
I have loved you in a thousand ways,
in borrowed nights and borrowed days,
and still the well has not run dry,
still the river questions why.
If time’s a circle, I’ll be there
at every turn, in every prayer.
If time’s a line that fades to grey,
I’ll love you past the last of day.
Not because I have to stay,
not because I’m bound to say—
but because the heart, once truly lit,
forgets the art of choosing quit.
So let the ages come and go,
let all the things we know, unknown.
One truth remains, and it is this:
there is no end to this.
